Case For Support
Now more than ever curating an empowering employee wellbeing experience is needed to ensure your staff and organization are thriving.
From staff turnover to absenteeism to presenteeism, employers are faced with a changing reality where escalating costs related to mental health are affecting their performance and impact. Deloitte estimates that in Canada lost productivity related to poor mental health in the workplace costs $6 billion annually with 500,000 workers weekly being unable to work due to poor mental health[1]. On an organization level, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce estimates that “on average, mental health issues cost businesses almost $1,500 per employee, per year.”[2] It is important to note that these costs are not all related to short or long-term disability claims. Deloitte notes that “presenteeism may cost employers up to three times that of absence—and that presenteeism is growing rapidly due to trends such as perceived job insecurity and remote working.[3]”
The good news is that investing in staff wellbeing through prevention and intervention can yield a positive return on investment according to Deloitte.
